Wolf Cooktop Repair in Denver

Gas, induction and electric Wolf cooktops — spark modules, sealed burners, inverter boards, valve stems and touch panels that have stopped answering.

$89 service call covers the visit and the diagnosis, and comes off the repair. Parts and labour quoted before work starts — the bands are further down.

Gas burner base with its cap removed, brass orifice and two electrode pins exposed on the cooktop deck

What people say on the phone

The way this one gets described

  • Induction zones cut out about ten minutes into a long simmer
  • Flames burn yellow and tip sideways, and the pans are turning black
  • Burner lights with a bang loud enough to hear upstairs
  • Touch controls answer on one side of the glass and not the other

Diagnosis

What it usually turns out to be

Three different appliances share this page because they share a cut-out. Gas cooktops fail at the burner and the valve; induction fails at the coil, the inverter board or the temperature protection around them; electric radiant fails at the element and the touch panel. The diagnosis has almost nothing in common between them.

  1. Induction zones that cut out mid-cook

Usually thermal protection doing its job: a blocked intake, a failed cooling fan, or an inverter running hot behind a cabinet with no airflow. Less often a coil connector backing out. A board swap into a hot cabinet fails again in a season.

  2. Yellow, sideways flames and black pans

Air-to-gas mixture. Blocked ports, a shifted electrode, a burner head not seated on its base, or an orifice never changed for the altitude. Soot on cookware is the giveaway that it has been wrong for a while.

  3. A burner that lights with a bang

Delayed ignition — gas pooling before the spark reaches it. The electrode has drifted out of position, or the port nearest it is crusted. It is loud, it is fixable in one visit, and it should not be lived with.

  4. Touch controls answering on one side only

Liquid under the glass, a cracked ribbon, or a control board that has lost one bank of inputs. Where a spill dried on a board we clean and dry it before condemning it, and we tell you honestly what the odds are.

What it costs

The bands this work is quoted from

Parts and the labour to fit them, grouped the way the faults actually arrive in Denver kitchens. Whatever is wrong with yours lands inside one of these six before anyone opens a toolbag.

Flat $89 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.

A band is where a quote starts, not where it lands. Once the fault is found you get one firm number from inside that range, agreed with you before a part is ordered or a panel comes off — and if you say go ahead, the service call comes off that number. Say no and you have paid for the diagnosis and nothing else.

Igniter or spark module
$180–$470
Burner valve or orifice service
$240–$610
Oven thermostat or sensor calibration
$220–$470
Convection fan or motor
$260–$620
Control board or touch panel
$460–$850
Door hinge, glass or seal
$280–$720

Worth setting against the other half of the decision: a comparable professional range, before installation and ventilation work, runs $8,490–$16,930. Most of what we are called to is worth putting right; where it genuinely is not, you will hear that on the visit rather than after the invoice.

  • New duplex kitchen, and the right rear zone buzzed loudly at any setting. A loose bracket under the glass was resonating, not the coil at all. He shimmed and tightened it, then explained what the buzz had been.

  • Induction top stopped reading my pans on two zones — a pan symbol and nothing else. A coil connector had worked loose behind the glass. He reseated it, then tested every zone with my own pot.

    Gaspar L.LoDo

  • Every knob on the cooktop had gone stiff and one snapped off in my hand. He rebuilt the valve stems and fitted a replacement knob. Parts were not cheap, and the first one arrived in the wrong finish.

Cooktop Repair questions we get asked

Nothing here is a sales answer. If the honest reply is that a repair is not worth it, that is what you will hear on the phone as well.

My induction cooktop says my pan is not there. Is the cooktop broken?

Test with a pan you know is magnetic. If that one works, the pan was the problem. If two zones refuse a pan that another zone accepts, the fault is in the coil or its connector, not the cookware.

Can knobs that have gone stiff be fixed without new valves?

Often. The grease in a valve stem hardens and the stem can be stripped, cleaned and re-greased. Where a stem is worn or a detent is broken, the valve itself has to be replaced.
