Wall ovens fail in a narrower set of ways than ranges, and most of them are measurable: an element that has gone open, a sensor that reads high, a latch that will not release, a cooling path that has been boxed in by a cabinet. Is a fault code enough to order the part from?
It narrows things, and it is worth reading down the phone. But codes describe a symptom the board can see, not the component that caused it — a temperature fault is as likely to be a harness as a sensor.
Should I keep running self-clean?
Sparingly. The cycle takes the cavity far above cooking temperature and it is hard on latches, gaskets and any board sitting near the top of the box. On an oven with a history of latch trouble we would rather you cleaned it by hand.
